These projects represent thoughtful, sustainable investments that are forward-looking. They are based on a coherent vision for the growth of Vaudreuil-Dorion, where each initiative aims to improve the quality of life, support the local economy, and strengthen the resilience of the territory.
Projects that shape the city of tomorrow
The structuring projects of Inspire Vaudreuil-Dorion include:
● The implementation of a sustainable mobility plan to improve circulation within our community;
● The revitalization of the Dorion sector by continuing the necessary governmental relations for the completion of Highway 20;
● The development of affordable and non-market housing to ensure a balanced social fabric;
● Protection against flooding, essential for the safety of the population; ● The creation of an innovative health hub, a driver for the economic and social development surrounding the arrival of the new hospital.
“We don’t plan a city by looking in the rearview mirror. We build it by looking straight ahead, with a clear vision and projects that inspire confidence.” — Karine Lechasseur, mayoral candidate for Vaudreuil-Dorion
These projects reflect an approach rooted in the realities on the ground but oriented towards the future: working with citizens, businesses, and organizations to build a coherent and human environment where families can thrive and businesses can prosper.
Acting to protect our living environments
Many citizens still live in the insecurity of experiencing recurring spring floods and torrential rains. “The issues related to flood-prone areas concern not only residents by the water but also all those who live nearby. We must act rigorously to convince the government to authorize permanent protection works in Vaudreuil-Dorion and to recognize property owners’ efforts to safeguard their properties.” — Marie- Claude Nolin, candidate for District De la Baie.
She also reminds us that an inclusive city requires social diversity:
“We must seize every possible opportunity to offer more affordable and non- market housing so that our families, workers, students, and seniors can continue to live here, in their community.”
Planning development around the future hospital
“We cannot simply wait for the hospital’s arrival without planning for the related effects of its establishment. The health hub must be well thought out, coherent, and impactful, in partnership with our socioeconomic actors and institutions, to develop structuring projects that will benefit the entire community.” — Éric Girard, candidate for District Des Chenaux
A forward-looking vision to ensure coherent development
These discussions illustrate Inspire Vaudreuil-Dorion’s commitment to focus on thoughtful projects that are rooted in the daily lives of citizens but aimed at a sustainable transformation of the city: responsible planning, rigorous management of the territory, and constant collaboration with the population to build the city of tomorrow.
